A roundup of faculty appearances in news sources and media from the last two weeks.

9/17 – A Rolling Stone feature article on sexual assault in the “digital age” quoted Professor Lori Andrews (“Sexting, Shame and Suicide“).

9/20 – Professor Ed Lee was featured in the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin’s “In the Spotlight” section (behind paywall). Prof. Lee talked about his area of expertise in intellectual property law and plugged the SCIPR 2013 conference, which was held on Thursday, September 26, at Chicago-Kent.

9/21Lori Andrews was quoted in a Times Union article on how the visibility of Facebook “likes” can negatively affect one’s preferred public reputation (“What your ‘likes’ can say“).

9/23 – The Columbia Journalism Review published an article about groundbreaking empirical research in copyright law; the article featured Professor Chris Buccafusco’s recent scholarship (“Does copyright law work?“). 10/3Lori Andrews was quoted in a New Scientist article about a patented DNA-analysis tool for couples to screen sperm and egg donors based on what kind of offspring they want (“US firm patents DNA-analysis tool for planning a baby“).

9/20 – Professor Carolyn Shapiro wrote a post for the ISCOTUSnow blog on the Supreme Court’s attitude toward businesses and cases in the upcoming Term that involve business interests (“Business in the Supreme Court“).

9/23 – Professor Adrian Walters authored a new post at his blog, The Walters Way, on a helpful method for students to understand Article 2 of the Uniform Commercial Code (“If you are struggling with UCC 2-207 try this…“).

10/2 – Professor Sheldon Nahmod authored a new post at his blog, Nahmod Law, on four recent court decisions that apply the section 1983 decision in Heck v. Humphrey (“Section 1983, Statutes of Limitation and Accrual: Recent Circuit Decisions Applying Heck v. Humphrey“).
