7/26 – The Chicago Daily Law Bulletin featured a story on Dean Harold Krent and Loyola University Chicago School of Law Dean David N. Yellen, who both participated in the first-ever “Law Deans to Israel” excursion last month (“Chicago-Kent, Loyola deans visit Israel,” behind paywall). The nonprofit group Scholars for Peace in the Middle East (SPME) and the American Association of Jewish Lawyers and Jurists (AAJLJ) sponsored the week-long trip, which brought Krent, Yellen, and officials from seven other law schools to Israel to “introduce [them] to Israeli institutions and governmental entities.”

7/29 – Professor David Schwartz was quoted in an International Property Watch article about infringement and enforcement of standard-essential patents (SEPs), a special type of patent that is created when “its owner allows the patented technology to be included in an industry standard, such as Bluetooth or WiFi.” (“United States Confounded By Standard-Essential Patents,” PDF).

7/31 – Dean Harold Krent was quoted in a Chicago Daily Law Bulletin story about a civil suit brought against Illinois Governor Pat Quinn by state legislative leaders (“Suit: Quinn botched veto of salaries“).
