On Wednesday, August 1, Illinois Governor Pat Quinn signed House Bill 3782 at IIT's Main Campus. The bill makes it illegal for employers to ask job applicants for passwords to their online social networking profiles, a growing trend among employers. Quinn's visit was initiated by Dean Hal Krent and Professor Lori Andrews, whose recent book I Know Who You Are and I Saw What You Did: Social Networks and the Death of Privacy argues in favor of the bill's stance on online privacy.
