Dunstan H. Barnes, Ph.D. is an associate at McAndrews, Held & Malloy, a boutique intellectual property law firm based in Chicago, Illinois. He focuses his practice on drafting and prosecuting design and utility patent applications, conducting opinion work and due diligence investigations, and advising on intellectual property protection strategies.

He earned his Juris Doctor from the IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law, his Doctor of Philosophy in Materials Science from the University of Cambridge, and his Master of Engineering in Materials Science from the University of Oxford.

Dunstan is currently the Chair of the International Practice & Policy Subcommittee of the AIPLA’s Industrial Designs Committee and will serve as the next Vice-Chair of the ABA Design Committee.
