Admissions Blog

Hello World!

Hello and welcome to our very first blog post!  My name is Emily and I’m the Assistant Director of Admissions here at Chicago-Kent. Through this blog, our team is hoping to not only provide you with useful information about the admissions process, but also share with you what makes Chicago-Kent and the city of Chicago great. You’ll hear from other staff members, students, and professors on all things Chicago and Chicago-Kent.

Spring Break is this week, so that means all the students are gone and the building is quiet. For everyone that doesn’t know, Chicago-Kent is housed in one building – classes, library, and all – so during student breaks it is VERY quiet. However, that is not necessarily a bad thing considering we’re in the process of reading applications and trying to get decisions out as quickly as possible.

Speaking of submitting applications, we have extended our suggested deadline to April 1st, so we are still accepting applications! This is a soft deadline, so we will continue to accept applications throughout the spring and summer. Also, it is important to note that we have a rolling admissions process. This means that the earlier you apply, the more likely you are to be accepted. When you’re accepted you get an acceptance email first.  This email has an uncanny ability to end up in Spam folders, so please make sure to check your Spam folder regularly (you don’t know what kind of good news may be waiting for you)!

After we send out the acceptance letters, we put together a nice “Admit Kit” of information and send it to you via snail mail. We try to send out Admit Kits within 1 to 2 days after admission, which means you should receive something in the mail within a week. And don’t worry if you haven’t applied yet, you still have time, but definitely try to get your application in sooner rather than later. If you have any questions, we are always here to answer them!

Until next time,
Emily
