Are you looking for a good beach read for spring break? Stop by the library’s Law and Popular Culture collection to pick up some light reading or a movie to enjoy over your time off.
Did you know Chicago-Kent’s Professor Lori Andrews has written a series of mystery novels? They feature Dr. Alexandra Blake, a geneticist whose expertise involves her in epidemics, espionage, forensic science, and politics. Other books in our library collection include legal thrillers, comics, trivia, humor, and classic novels.
Our Law and Popular Culture collection began in 2008 from a student suggestion and the ABA Journal list of the 25 Greatest Legal Movies. You can find these movies and more at the 9th floor library service desk and check them out anytime for 7 days. Our pop culture books are loaned according to our material borrowing policies.
You can “browse” recent additions in our Law and Popular Culture Collection Guide. If you have a book or movie you’d like to have us add, send your suggestion to library@kentlaw.iit.edu or leave a comment on this post!

I never knew Lori Andrews wrote mystery novels, they look promising. It’s been so long since I’ve read a novel but I think I may start with this, or perhaps House of Leaves, I heard that’s a great one too.
